Equity in the Classroom--Teacher Expectations and Student Achievement (TESA) Jul 23, 2008
The training will be a 2-hour overview of the TESA program, focusing on promoting teacher/staff behaviors that create equity in the classroom. Educational staff, by their equitable treatment of students in the three areas of questioning, feedback, and personal regard, can transmit to students the feeling that they can succeed. In classrooms with TESA trained teachers, research shows, academic performance improves and the achievement gap between ethnic groups narrows.
Outcomes: Participants will learn that TESA is a program of behavioral change that encourages staff to interact equitably will ALL students.
